Shipston Town Band

At 11.00 am on Friday 11th November the centre of Shipston fell silent as the people of Shipston and the British Legion gathered to remember the fallen from both World Wars and conflicts since. The Last Post and Reveille were sounded by cornet player Bob Pitts of Shipston Town Band.

The historic church of St Peter ad Vincula in Hampton Lucy was the venue for a Proms Concert featuring Shipston Town Band and a number of local vocalists. The church was packed and bedecked with Union Jacks of all sizes. The band featured a number of film-related items in its programme including  The Parade Of

Shipston Town Band joined many other bands to take part in the popular Pershore Midsummer Brass. They presented a varied programme of music including Parade Of The Charioteers from Ben Hur, Anything Goes and a rarely heard march by William Rimmer The Avenger. They were pleased to welcome back Luke Barker from the Flowers band

The Summer Programme Of Bandstand Concerts continued and the Town Band had the benefit of some lovely weather and a large crowd for their visit to Stratford and the bandstand on the Recreation Ground.
