As is customary, on Saturday 11th November, a short period of Remembrance, organised by Mike Wells of the Shipston Branch of the British Legion, took place in Shipston High Street.
The crowds were silent and no traffic moved. The 2-minute silence was punctuated by the Last Post and Reveille played by Bob Pitts of Shipston Town Band.
Shiston Town Band also led the parade on Remembrance Sunday.
Despite the weather the band played on leading the extensive parade to the Service at St Edmunds Church where the Last Post and Reveille were played by Cornet Player Bob Pitts and the names of The Fallen were read out by Prefects from Shipston High School. The band played four hymns during the service and were conducted by Micah Parsons.
In slightly better weather the band led the Parade back to the High Street where it was dismissed
