Stour Concert Brass visited Sanders Park in Bromsgrove on Sunday June 4th. Enjoying beautiful weather there was a large audience waiting in their deck chairs to enjoy the varied programme the band had prepared for them. Beginning the concert with Listen to the Band they presented a variety of popular melodies ranging from Bridge Over Troubled Water and Rivers Of Babylon to the music of Burt Bacharach featuring Flugel Horn Soloist Mike Butler playing Alfie and Leonard Cohen‘s delightful Hallelujah. Popular film music including Cruella Da Ville from 101 Dalmatians and Toy Story were interspersed with the march National Emblem so beloved by the American Bandleader John Philip Sousa and 1950s hit Rock Around The Clock. On such a lovely day it made it quite appropriate to finish the programme with Bring Me Sunshine so often associated with Morecambe and Wise.
