Two of our former players had a very successful time at the European Brass Band Championships held in Malmo Sweden last weekend.
Luke Barker, who has been studying in Switzerland for 12 months, has been playing for Brass Band Treize Etoiles. They won the Swiss National Championships and qualified to represent Switzerland at the European Championships. They gave a tremendous performance and were crowned Champions Of Europe above many famous British Bands including Black Dyke and Cory. Needless to say Luke was on Cloud 9 for this magnificent achievement.
Young Percussionist Alec Banner was playing with one of England’s Top Youth Bands, Brass 2000, based in Northamptonshire. They were competing in the Premier Section of the European Youth Brass Band Championships where they were placed 3rd.
A big well done to both of them.
