Shipston Training Band’s first performance

On 17th October, Shipston Training Band performed their first concert under the baton of 18-year-old Alec Banner when they were invited to play at Shipston’s Methodist Church by Shipston Music Society. They were given a warm welcome and lots of praise during and after the concert, with a request for an ‘encore’. It was a great success and a good time was had by all. The Music Society generously gave band members individual gift tokens as well as a £50 cheque for band funds.

Training Band practices are held twice a week at the Band Room – on Wednesdays from 6 pm – 7 pm with Alec Banner and on Sundays from 4 pm – 5 pm with Kevin Pitt (who also provides brass instrument lessons via Shipston Brass Academy).
