After reading about Alec Banner’s recent appointment as conductor of the Shipston Training Band, David Allsopp—owner of the Thirst Edition micro-pub—very generously chose to donate £1,000 to support the Shipston Training Band and Brass Academy.
Every Thursday evening from 7–9 pm, David hosts charity quizzes at Thirst Edition, where participants are invited to give voluntary donations in support of local causes. Once a significant amount is raised, a local charity is selected as the lucky recipient.
This isn’t the first time Shipston’s bands have benefitted from David’s generosity. In 2023, Shipston Town Band was also awarded a £1,000 donation, which was gratefully received.
