Yesterday Shipston Town made its annual visit to Sanders Park Bromsgrove for its regular performance on the bandstand. The band gave a varied programme with excellent performances from its outstanding soloists with David Hunt playing the Soprano cornet solo Demelza and Cornet Soloist Luke Barker of Flowers Band who was making a guest appearance with his original band playing Don’t Doubt Him Now from the Salvation Army Repertoire. There was a somewhat surreal feeling about the day as despite having to contend with the rain we also found ourselves right next to a funfair in full flow with a rock band on another stage within sound range. Nevertheless, the band played on and entertained their loyal and resilient audience.
