FORMERLY SHIPSTON JUNIOR BAND

Shipston Junior Proms - 2015

It’s still the Junior Proms, although we have had to ammend the Band’s name to accommodate many older players that are now swelling our training band’s ranks.

During the time Bert Smith ran the main band, Dennis Abbots and some colleagues set up a band to help ensure the future of Shipston Town Band. As the aim was to introduce young people to the world of Brass Banding that was fine, but things have change dramatically and Dennis’s fledgling and highly successful band has expanded both in numbers and age range. The Proms came along, so naturally the band involved itself there too, and here below are a few photo memories of this years event.
