Remembering Those ‘lads and lasses’

Prior to Christmas is a time for remembering all those who are no longer with us and this year was no exception as villages, towns and cities the length of the United Kingdom remember those who left us during conflict, particularly the 1914-1918 ‘Great War’.

The folk of the quiet village of Ilmington, tucked away in the Cotswolds, remembered their absent members who were taken in the Great War and the local folk so badly affected the terrible event. During the presentation at the local parish church an aeroplane was recalled which the villagers worked hard to raise funds for and the many characters who unselfishly gave up so much in that awful conflict. Stour Concert Brass were proud to be invited to take part in the event and provided some suitable music of the time to accompany spoken remembrances of Ilmington 1914 and its people.
